At Ultra, we support ERP projects with companies that fit into a number of different industries, but the purpose of our involvement always revolves around the same question: how can we help you improve the way your business functions?
On a basic level, despite the specific industry of a company, the journey to ERP Selection is the same.
ERP Projects: Two Success Stories
Recently, Ultra led two very different companies to ERP Success. One company is a distributor of commodity pipe products. The other is a member of the food additives business. Although these companies vary immensely in their day-to-day activities, they both benefitted from Ultra’s immense ERP knowledge.
In our experience, the desire for a business process change is felt throughout an entire organization. Most often than not, this feeling can be initiated by something as simple as a growth in company size. Company growth has proven to be one of the biggest motivators for ERP change, and was part of the business case for change at both the companies.
ERP Projects – Driving to ROI
While embarking on a journey that holds so much clout in the success of your business can easily feel overwhelming, one of the most important rewards of a new ERP system is the guaranteed return on investment (ROI). With all of our ERP projects, we strive for at least a 300% return on investment. As a new ERP system can change a lot about a company, this is an easy metric to accomplish. However, in dealing with clients, this idea of a future benefit is one of the most difficult but also most important concepts to grasp.
Through Ultra’s extensive current state vs. future state and business process mapping analysis, we were able to find the perfect software for both the companies.
Turning back to our “tale of two ERP projects,” the pipe commodity company ended up purchasing Epicor P21, a distribution-focused ERP Product, with the option of 140 named users. The food additive company went with MS NAV, by JustFoodERP, a division under the IndustryBuilt title, and opted for 35 concurrent and 40 device users.
